Prolotherapy is an injection-based treatment containing a mixture of glucose, saline and anaesthetic. It used in chronic musculoskeletal conditions and works by prompting the body's natural repair mechanisms to heal injured or weakened joints, ligaments and tendons. Prolotherapy is typically used as a last resort therapy for stubborn chronic conditions before surgical opinion and referral.
