Cupping
You may have seen many athletes with cups all over their backs, but did you know it can also help release the feet and legs?
Cupping is a non-invasive technique that decreases muscular tightness and restriction via the increase of blood flow to the affected area. Cupping works by the practitioner placing a cup on the skin and creating suction for the cup to stay on. This suction increases the blood flow and decompresses the soft tissue tightness underneath.
Cupping is a great alternative for those who need trigger point therapy, but find they don't respond well to dry needling, or have a phobia of needles. Cupping also helps with releasing tight muscles on the feet and works best in conjunction with light soft tissue therapy following treatment.
Cupping is most effective for:
Releasing muscular tightness
Increasing range of motion
Arch, foot, and lower limb pain
All our Podiatrists are qualified to administer cupping therapy.
